> loaded into the working model — the original file is untouched and will stay that way
Commentary text like this, once described here on HN as essentially the chat context leaking into the application, is absolute anathema to me. Something about it makes me irrationally annoyed and immediately not want to use the software.
I think, to me, it signals the pinnacle of vibe-coding in the sense that I can't imagine that the output was looked at closely and the copy still remained. When my own agents try to write stuff like that, I remove it immediately.
Like I said, maybe irrational.

> Corruption needs something to touch, and we touch nothing.
It always reads to me like some high school essay where the student has nothing more to say but a wordcount requirement they still need to hit.
vatsachak 18 hours ago [-]
Nah, not irrational. No application should show the logic at the forefront. It's just claude-ese convention from RLVR
jwilcoxson 11 hours ago [-]
It’s very annoying. Claude specifically will tend to treat minor clarifying details in a prompt as major features.
I’ve also noticed it likes to spam a UI with explanatory text for every control. Almost like it wants to do tooltips, but doesn’t understand the exact UI for them.

You're definitely not wrong. It's the new code smell.

4 matches for 'honest'. Why does claude like that word so much? Honestly?!
EGreg 18 hours ago [-]
I’ll be straight with you… I think it’s the RLHF. That is the most load-bearing aspect
lioeters 10 hours ago [-]
Language models are trained to use "honest", "genuine", and "hand-written" - because they are known to confidently lie to your face. "Why would I deceive you?"
Another thing that irks me is they've started using "I", "me", and "my" - an attempt to prey on the psychological projection of its users, to create a fake emotional connection with a thinking subject.

I doubt this

I know a lot of folks would argue it is a poor indicator, but more often than not I've been right on so many occasions because of the heavy usage of 'em dashes

For some value of “person” and “built”.

I use "Note Everything" on my Android phone. I found is uses a SQLite db for storing its info. Might try this for extracting the contents if I ever want to move to Apple phone.
Just tried it. I have Note Everything save to Google Drive. Extracted that zip file, read it here, saved the text notes as csv, looked at it in txtedit. Great!!!!
Could write a gawk program to recreate the notes in directories.
colecut 17 hours ago [-]
Thanks for mentioning this, I'm still looking for the best note app for me, and this looks nice for storing photos along with notes..
Since it stores to sqldb I could probably sync the db to a webserver and build a web frontend for presentation.

Was intrigued then saw the obvious LLM speak.
If someone doesn't bother to de-LLM that means they never read the output in the first place.

Brilliant, upload your data and access it through some third party via a browser. No concerns here.

It's run locally on your browser. (I'm not using this service; I just tested with a dummy database.)

Firefox has "File | Work Offline" but it would be nice if a site could invoke this after its assets were loaded, with a clear indication in the browser chrome.
It would make it much easier to trust these offline sites.
Natfan 17 hours ago [-]
TIL about "Work Offline" in a browser! i mean it makes sense, even if it initially sounds counter-intuitive

I wish there was a link to the repo included on the website. I assume that it is this one..?
This seems like a common design framework I am seeing on multiple AI created projects. Is it just Tailwind or is it using ShadCN?
fishtoaster 19 hours ago [-]
Reminds me of an old hack project I did: https://tabdb.io/ Edit + query an SQL database whose data is stored exclusively in your browser tabs.
wg0 18 hours ago [-]
How anyone cannot produce the same thing by just pointing an AI agent to it?

thaumasiotes 18 hours ago [-]
It's also valueless. If you want a graphical interface to SQLite, they already exist. Look at https://sqlitebrowser.org/ .
agilek 18 hours ago [-]
It doesn’t run in the browser.
thaumasiotes 18 hours ago [-]
So what? Why do you want your database viewer to run in the browser?
netsharc 13 hours ago [-]
I've used a Firefox extension which purpose was SQLite viewing/editing. I guess it's half "runs in the browser" and half "it still needs to be installed".

The point of art is not necessarily to look pretty, sometimes is to raise questions or challenge assumptions, to evoke emotions - make you feel disgusted, angry, befuddled.
Some modern "artists" take it to the extremely provocative form, a lot of what gets mocked as lazy conceptual art is lazy not because it's offensive but because the idea could be stated in one sentence and the object adds nothing to it.
I suppose we're witnessing a new form of lazy, lame art - concepti-slop "art of coding". Which could often be described in one sentence:
